Import and sale of industrial diamonds and CBN

Choose the perfect product from our top-of-the-line selection

Global Diamond is a specialized trading company that has been importing and selling industrial diamonds and CBN (cubic boron nitride) from around the world for nearly half a century. With one of the most extensive product lineups in Japan, we provide the optimal superabrasives tailored to our customers' cutting, grinding, and polishing needs.

Our Strengths

The nation's leading product lineup

We offer a wide range of industrial diamond products in various sizes and types to help you select the material that best suits your application. In addition to covering a comprehensive selection of diamonds suitable for various applications—including those bonded with resins, metals, and other binders, as well as electroplated diamonds—we also offer a diverse range of fine powders (micron-sized). Furthermore, we carry an extensive selection of CBN (cubic boron nitride), which is essential for machining ferrous materials, providing a one-stop solution for all your needs.

Stable Supply Through Inventory Management and Multiple Sourcing Channels

We maintain a stock of over 3 million carats at all times and have established a system that allows for same-day shipping of in-stock items. Even in the unlikely event that supplies from a specific country or manufacturer are interrupted, we have secured multiple sourcing channels and built a procurement network capable of providing alternative solutions.
We can flexibly accommodate orders ranging from small quantities (100 carats and up) for research and development to large-volume orders for mass production.

Thorough Quality Control Based on In-House Analysis

We maintain our own state-of-the-art analytical equipment and conduct thorough incoming and outgoing inspections of our products. Rather than simply reselling products from overseas manufacturers, we manage them according to Japanese standards to ensure consistent quality. We can also provide measurement data along with the products upon delivery.
In addition, we retain samples from every shipment in-house, enabling us to quickly identify the cause of any defects should they occur.

Solutions to address our customers' concerns

What sets us apart is that, as a trading company, we do more than simply sell products; we possess the expertise to conduct analyses using our own facilities and the ability to offer solutions to your challenges. We listen to your needs regarding the machining conditions—including the workpiece material—and the issues with your current abrasives, and then propose industrial diamond materials with the optimal shape and hardness, including evaluations of your current abrasives and custom options such as special sizes.

Evaluation of Your Current Abrasive Grains and Recommendations

We believe that improving tool quality and machining efficiency begins with the evaluation of abrasive grains. We offer free evaluation and analysis of the diamond and CBN abrasive grains you use, utilizing our state-of-the-art in-house testing equipment. In addition to visual inspections of color, shape, particle size, and coating condition, we will assist you in developing better, more reliable tools by listening to your concerns and improvement requests, based on comprehensive analysis results such as TI/TTI and Raman spectroscopy evaluations.

If you are facing any of the following challenges, please feel free to contact us.

  • We would like to determine the extent of quality variation—such as color and particle size—among batches of the current abrasive grains.
  • We want to carefully analyze the machining results based on differences in abrasive types and apply these findings to future development.
  • We are looking for a supplier that can provide abrasives equivalent to our current ones as part of our cost-cutting and business continuity planning efforts.

Analysis and Proposal Examples

Example 1: Improving surface roughness

We received a sample of the customer’s current abrasive grain (green) from a client seeking to improve surface roughness. Upon analysis, we found that the grain size distribution was broad and contained a high proportion of coarse grains. From among our abrasive products of equivalent strength, we proposed a product (red) with a higher degree of grading precision while maintaining the same median particle size as the current product, and we worked with the customer to explore development directions for tool improvement.

Example 2: Evaluating a Second Vendor

With the aim of reducing costs and exploring alternative suppliers as part of our business continuity planning (BCP), we conducted tests on the current abrasive (green), including particle size, grading accuracy, shape measurement, and strength testing. Based on these results, we proposed a suitable product (red).

Compatible with special mesh sizes

Abrasive grains are classified according to mesh sizes defined by international standards; however, these standards may not always meet the requirements for high-precision machining or specialized applications. Please feel free to consult us regarding requests such as ‘reducing particle size variation between batches’ or 'achieving a particle size that falls exactly between two standard sizes.'

Please note that for these custom sizes, we will establish a D50 value in consultation with you and implement quality control measures to ensure long-term reliability and peace of mind.

Examples of Applications for Special Mesh Sizes

This is an example of a custom mesh size (#325/350, green) developed in response to requests to shift the D50 value of the particle size distribution toward coarser particles from the current standard international specification mesh size (#325/400, red), as well as to improve classification accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

We maintain a stock of over 5 million carats of diamond and CBN abrasives at all times. For items in stock, we can sell them in increments of 100 carats. For items not currently in stock—such as coated or surface-treated abrasives—please contact us first, as these require a minimum order quantity due to the processing involved.

What is the delivery time?

If the item is in stock at our facility, we can ship it the same day. If the item is in the manufacturer’s inventory, please allow approximately 10 to 14 days for delivery. However, we will first check the stock status, so please contact us and let us know your desired delivery date.

Additionally, even for products we do not currently stock, we will actively consider establishing domestic inventory based on your usage patterns and future demand.

Can you perform the tests I want and send me the results?

We are committed to introducing the latest testing equipment and conducting rigorous in-house quality inspections, with our top priority being to ensure our customers can use our products with complete confidence. We can provide “custom” inspection reports that include any specific tests you request, so please feel free to contact us for more information. Additionally, for any tests that cannot be performed in-house, we will arrange for them to be conducted by external testing laboratories as needed.
